COMPARSA

In the summer of 2025, I had the privilege of collaborating with filmmakers, Vickie Curtis and Doug Anderson, on their now acclaimed documentary, Comparsa. This powerful film chronicles the journey of two young sisters and their community members as they lead a vibrant rebellion against gender violence through art, joy, and performance. For the title art and copy design, we drew inspiration from the use of paint in the film, ultimately creating a custom hand-painted font that was transformed into digital assets. Additionally, I developed teaser art featuring one of the main subjects, Lesli, showcasing her intricate face paint, hinting at the film's themes. The main art I created presents a fully composited image of the two sisters facing each other, with a community vigil and city scenes depicted between them.
